The draft deadline for New York Jets-Green Bay Packers trades has passed. Last Wednesday on The Pat McAfee Show, 39-year-old quarterback Rodgers announced his intention to join the Jets.
However, Rodgers' modified contract and the Packers' compensation—two first-round draft picks—have still to be agreed.
Adam Schefter reported that Green Bay wanted a trade return like the Detroit Lions' with Matthew Stafford, which netted them two first-round picks, a third-round pick, and Jared Goff.
According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, the Jets must negotiate a deal with the Packers for the four-time MVP before the NFL draft.
Rapoport told Pat McAfee: “It's actually the Jets and the Packers that are now negotiating and trying to figure this out. I'm looking ahead. Deadlines always drive these things.
Since the draft is the only deadline, this could continue till then. 2023 draft picks. The deadline for using them."
